Driving alone can be fun

Cameron took Ashleigh to her weekly swimming lesson this morning, and I drove to a friend's house for a long overdue catch-up.

Being of the ADHD generation, I constantly flicked through the radio stations as I drove until I landed on Better by The Screaming Jets. I started singing along, and it slowly dawned on me that I was alone in the car. So I cranked it. Instead of singing, I screamed the lyrics. I drummed the steering wheel. I even 'sang' the guitar riff. (All while driving as if I was taking my driving test, of course.) My 'never, never, never, never, never, never, never gonna get anywhere, they don't care, that's not faaaaaaaaaaaaaaair!' was particularly brilliant.

Yes, it's true. Ashleigh is not yet two, and I have already become the mother in the Mazda ad who locks the doors while singing Heaven (Must Be There) at the top of her lungs. The difference: I'd put the windows down so the kids could hear my singing and proudly tell their friends that I was their mother.*

*Scenario may not play out in exactly this way.

What song do you sing/scream along to when you're the only one in the car?
